I shopped at Baring Blvd Smiths for 11 yrs when I lived on York and my kids were at Reed High. Now I shop when I have my nail appt on Baring, and use the UPS in the center. Today at 11:00 am the store was crammed, being Saturday. One checker was opened. I went to self checkout. I had a 6 pk of paper towels that wouldn’t fit in their crummy bags. So I set it somewhere right there. There is NOWHERE to put anything. I bagged up all else and I accidentally left the p. Towels sitting there. $17.00 product. It’s my fault, however I rarely use self check, but was forced to or wait in an 8 person line with my frozen goods. There is a “helper” in self check. I’m disappointed and angry that no one noticed them, as there is NOWHERE to put ANYTHING down around the ck out area. There was an employee right there. So I’m out &17.00 because I had to lay them in between my area and the bags. I left them there and no one notices? I won’t ever shop there again. I’ll take my part of the blame, but the “helper” was no help. So they got put back if someone else took them on my dime.

Carts all over the parking lot, see pic. Inside it’s clean and well organized. Some staff seem too busy to help, one almost angrily helped us apply Rewards Card during self checkout, but others are like you’d find at Publix; very engaging and helpful. Fruits, vegetables, fish, and beef were good. See pics. Many refrigerated display cases had doors; a wise energy saving thing to do. They have two aisles of wine n liquor, but the beer section seemed lacking. There is a US Bank and key machine in the store. Little casino in the entryway.

This store is a bit out of my way but I do the bulk of my grocery shopping here because the prices are good and the produce is usually great. The beer and wine section has a large selection to choose from and they always have good sale prices. The bakery and deli sections have very large varieties, good prices and great quality. This store also has a very large non-grocery section that sells toiletries, kitchen utensils, light bulbs, seasonal items and far too many other items to name. The staff has always been very polite and extremely helpful. Several self-checkout lanes also make this a great stop for 1 or 2 items whether it's diapers and milk, organic fruit and chips, deli dinner for 2 or a birthday card and pie for Grandma. The parking lot is well lit at night and the lot itself is in good condition.

Kinda a hot mess. Felt dark and dirty. Unorganized. The only reason I went is because they carried the coffee Creamer that I like. But when I got back to the coffee creamer section it was practically empty. As a matter of fact, i've never seen such empty shelves in a store except for on walking dead. Lol. Didn't make me want to rush back. Especially since I couldn't get what I wanted and had to settle for something else.

This is a good store and good people work here, however there is a MAJOR problem. This store is directly located across the street from Reed high and the teenagers who INFEST the place are AWFUL. You want to avoid the store in the mornings before they start school and when they get out of school. Their parents don’t care that their children are terrorizing everyone in that shopping center and wreaking havoc daily. I’ve seen them get into screaming arguments with the employees because they get caught stealing and it honestly makes me fear for their lives because this generation is doomed and they think they are invincible so they’re capable of anything, it’s terrifying. This is a good store but it needs some security because these kids are not scared of nor do they respect the regular employees.

The older women working halloween evening tonight are incredibly rude and have poor attitudes towards certain customers. Started with the lady loudly asking me in a sarcastic tone if i was with the person ahead of me in line and then telling me to step back to some small sign i hadnt seen while i was waiting to get a money order. I was more than 6 feet from the next person. Im not the persecution type, but they had the gall to ignore me at self checkout while greeting every single other person, offering candy, etc. then when i asked for help removing an item i double scanned, the lady didnt say a word to acknowledge my request, removed it, then turned her back to me, making it super awkward. The same lady asked me minutes later if id scanned the pizzas i bought and already paid for. Id left them at selfcheckout w my backpack for like 1 min after checking out. id just asked her to leave the stuff there while i went to grab an item id forgotten to purchase. Incredibly insulting to be treated so indifferently and insulting to have her imply im stealing items so casually. Those women need to stop engaging in uneven treatment of customers or im going to record it and show management how nasty they can be.

Smith's Sparks, your customer service sucks. Several times a day several different days of the week, there is always always always always a line and customer service. Perhaps making time limits for when you can send money overseas may help almost every time I am in there there are at least two people in line to send money Mexico Hawaii Canada and it seems like it just takes so so long especially if you don't have somebody a customer service that speak Spanish
